Story is: my amp wires were professionally installed about 3-4 years ago. My stereo equipment got stolen a 4 months after that. I unhooked everything and haven't used it since.

I left to go to boot camp and school for 6 months, where I left her in storage. When I came back, rats were living in my car. I cleaned it all up and called it good.

I recently purchased a new amp, sub, and head unit. I hooked everything up about a week ago. Things ran good for a while. On the day before the 4th, I go to best buy and while I'm inside, my alarm goes off. I go outside and SMOKE is pouring out of my car. Fire trucks come and douse the car.

Alot of people said my car was nice and said it was a shame to see it go. One guy said that was one 'hot' car!

I don't know if the rats chewed through somthing or maybe the wires got corroded. But it was definitly the amp wire that started it. I'm pretty sure it caught my air filter on fire too.

Thought I'd let off some steam. Oh well, stuff happens.

Yeah glad to hear that you weren't in the car while this happened. It must have been a huge fire from those pics.

Hey! I had a little brainstorm. If I bought an entire jdm front clip, will all the parts be the same? The body and frame seem fine.

well the body and frame will be fine cuz im sure the fire didnt get hot enough to do damage to the metal.. it just melted away the paint.. so yea u could buy a jdm clip and do a whole lotta swaping..

i dont see how that happens tho.. the fuse should blow if there is a short... or did you hook up a fuse?

its just an innovative way to strip the paint and smoke the headlights

no we are talking about a fuse put about 8 inches after the battery post? The amp fuse pops if the amp faults, not if the power wire faults.

a jdm front clip would be nice but remember drivers on the other side so there is modification in that

if dang wish you would have taken off the jdm one pieces before the fire!!

sucks man hope you revive it and/or get another 4th gen
