Key in ignition beeper staying on...

Ever since I got my Prelude, it makes the beeping noise when you open the door, but I have been told and have seen in 2 other preludes that it should only beep if you have the key in the ignition and the door open.

Mine beeps whenever the door is open so is there a way to make it stop and work how it should? I've tried tapping and wiggling the ignition barrel but have not succeded so fare...

mine does it all teh time most of the time i just wiggle it and the little door that closes the ignition hole will close and stop the beeping.. i stopped it once using a teflon spray (sp?) i used can air to blow out any excess and that worked for a long time until i had it parked when i was builiding its new motor and it did it again after that
