Keep the H23 or get the H22???

Hey guys. I was wondering your thoughts on my dilemna. I bought my car mainly for racing. I plan on mostly using it for autoXing but I may use it on long race track every now and then.
My car right now has 155K miles on it. It pulls hard and runs well. I am only able to afford buying a H22 motor, not the whole swap. Even that is gonna be pushing my bank account. All depends on how much I could get for parting out my H23 motor. Anyways, do you think the low end torque of the H23 will better be suited for the autoX tracks???
The H22 would be at a greater disadvantage being coupled with the H23 tranny making it even slower in the bottom end...right???

Thanks for you input.
Andy

only because he's never owned one or noticed how poor the oiling capability of the block is :/

they're "great" when built and then turbo'd but i'm afraid to drive one stock let alone put a turbo on a stock internal one

I say just wait and don't spend any money now....wait til you have the money for the h22 and some internals then you can save up for a turbo....

if your gonna be auto crossing then you probably won't like a turbo because of all the braking and spool time my suggestion is to get the h22 and build it all motor, and you really won't make any real money off parting out the h23

It all depends. For drag stick with your h23 (which I have and love) and get yourself a turbo. Otherwise get the VTEC for auto crossing. I dont think either one is better than the other. Like I said it all depends on what your going to be doing with it.

Maybe you forgot that the h22 and h23 have the same block.

people read first.....he is not going for drag racing....he is going for autox.....turbo is basically not good for autox....so stop suggesting that he should get a turbo...and for autox...the h23 is probably a good engine to go with considering torque kicks in at 4500rpm...so i say just stay with it...and just build it and spend your money on suspension and other stuff to help your time with autox...
