Kangaroo hopping

My '95 Prelude has had an intermittent engine warning light for a week or two now, which usually comes on when damp and when putting strain on the engine at speed (maybe 70mph+)

However, recently it'll drive fine until the engine light comes on and then it'll kangaroo hop (or stutter) when it reaches the change gear point (3000rpm or above) in any gear. So it forces you to change up quicker to avoid the problem of the stuttering/choking acceleration.

Does anyone have any idea what could be the cause of this? It sounds electrical to me.

Thanks,
Steven

My broken wings still strong enough to cross the ocean with.
My broken wings how far should I go drifting in the wind.

Thanks - I know how to test the diagnostics myself but for someone who hasn't done it before, once I've checked the code, do I have to reset the ecu by removing a fuse or do I simply remove the paperclip and that's it?

What are you australian? Something is blocked. Sounds like your car is in limp mode of course because of the cel. Do you do what we call 'servicing' ? OMG and whatever you do don't pull out the ecu fuse but if you want to go ahead!
