Question 1 )So i have a 93 prelude and i got some rust and **** around the wheel wells, and i was wondering if anyone knew if it would be easier to get it done by somone who knows what there doing and have them charge a arm and a leg or just do it myself with bondo and if so. what would be the easiest route of going that way
Question 2 )My prelude is a SR 2.2L Automatic and im pritty much getting my ass handed to me by like jetta's and cavalier's so what would be the best exhaust, headers, intake; setup for the car would be...and i rather ask noone else other then people that deal with nothing other then people that love this type of car as well as i do.
1) To really fix Honda rot on the rear quarter panels, you will probably have to cut out the bad parts and weld in new metal. There would probably be nothing to bond-o to when you remove all the rust. The wheels arches hold water, then they rust from the inside out, so once you see the rust it's already too late. The cost of doing cutting the rust out and replacing it is going to be more than the car is worth. By a lot.
2) The f22 in your car is wimpy. Any attempts to make in un-wimpy are a waste. If you want more power, swap in an H23 or better yet an H22.
well the rust isn't that bad and its only a little on the front wheel well and a maybe 2 inches of rust on the back rear ones. other that its good... and how much would a h23 cost
The front fenders are easy, they can be replaced. As I explained with the rears, they rust from the inside out. If you can see rust, it's probably to late to fix them without cutting/welding.
yes but i would it to be faster, more Hp. just trying to go the best route. like its my first car i kinda dont want to get rid of it. but at the same time dont have to much money lol.
Free advice: Leave it alone, save your money, then buy something better when you can afford it. Building up your current car is a lost cause. It has the weakest available engine, the wrong transmission, and almost 20 years worth of wear and tear on it.
I hate to be a buzz kill, but that's the reality of this situation.
yea i guess i was looking a 97 prelude with the h22 no rust really nice looking, but dont have the 5 grand for it lmao. and by time i get the money it will be gone..
Sucks getting worked by slow cars but the engine your car has is the weakest it came with, the auto trans is also going to hurt a lot too. Trade it for a 5spd Si and do a H22 swap.
