For $19.99 yea they're that bad unless it's some brand name pad that you got for a blow up crazy midnight special price. Seriously you get what you pay for. You can't even get oem pads for that price.

Supposedly the lifetime warranty pads and other made of the same crap destroy your rotors. Anyone know if their ceramics are any good?

You're supposed to break them in for at least 500 miles to let the pads mate to the rotors.

That may help.

they are semi-metallic pads, i read the box this morning

the back autozone pads are organic

if the OEM rotors get destroyed - then i'll just have to go to brembos or something and get some "good" pads.....my dad payed for the autozone ones - no complaints from me yet...

AZ has a few different kinds of pads.. Organic, Semi Metallic, Carbon Metallic, Ceramic, and The Z rated series which I think are Carbon Metallic as well. The Semi metallics will Not mess up rotors... it's the Carbon Metallic ones that will. They stop better but they'll start to eat up your rotors in no time. You do have to break in pads.. like said above. I've personally never tried our pads, but I've never had someone come back and say "they fade too fast". So I dunno...

Btw if you couldn't tell.. I work there.

A basic question, are the pads dragging, causing them to overheat and fade. After a brake job, I always test to make sure my pads do not drag. Find a slight(very small) incline/hill, stop then release the brakes. If the car does not start to roll, you have too much drag.

In the past I had to file the "tab" on the pad so it would have some room to move in the calipher braket.
