I just placed an order for a JDM H22A with LSD Tranny - complete swap. It should be shipped and arrive within a week or so.
I should get the downpipe too, which (in theory) will make the swap more of a direct swap.
Now to find an engine stand and an engine hoist (cherry picker) before the motor gets here so I can go ahead and take out the h23a and tranny.....
I am excited to say the least...I just hope everything gets here in the shape it's supposed to be in and I hope it starts on the first try.
Now to get other parts (tbelt, other belts, seals, etc) to replace before the motor goes in. I may consider a ACT clutch rather than the exedy organic disc....we'll see.
nice dude! the swap isn't too hard... Hardest part is some of the pesky bolts that are hard to get to. Took me about 1 week, working on it during the nights and weekend.
Be sure to label all of your vaccum lines and electrical connections with a piece of labeled tape. Makes it much easier to remember where everything connects to in the end.
the thing I'm most concerned about is the wire connectors. I doubt it will take more than 2 nights work assuming I don't run into any major issues.....not including the time it takes to prep the new motor with tbelt and clutch/flywheel and a few other misc items.
the only area I foresee an issue is disconnecting/connecting the exhaust at the catalytic converter....I guess it's time to get a bolt-out kit
I wish I could say I only paid $2,000, but it was slightly more....like I said before, i hope it arrives in tip top shape and works - that's my only real concern
