just got a prelude with an h23 motor.. need help

is it possible to swap out the motor and put a vr6 form a vw or a 1.8t from a vw? would it be possible to make it AWD? i would like to know this... i have the money ready in my bank.. about 2000 us dollars... do you think that would be enough... i could find a crashed vw for about 600 or so and i could get an AWD system from an audi or even a R32... what do you think... shoudl i save some more? are there any DIY out there for this? thanks

there's no way u can make the prelude AWD for under $2k.

I don't wanna sh!t on ur VW swap idea, cuz I love different projects that aren't done everyday, but my h22a swapped prelude sh!ts all over 1.8T's. Vr6's are a VERY close race, but I have lost to a few.

If you want an easy swap (compared to swapping in a VW motor, check out Hmotorsonline.com, its one of the MOST reputable motor distributors for honda's in the US.

My engine alone, shipped was roughly $1400 like 5 years ago

I never have problems with VR6's (unless they have EXTENSIVE work done), or even R32's...

They have to be heavily modded..

But yeah. It should work man! DO IT! AWD prelude FTW!

But be careful. VW trannies are SHIET! And EXPENSIVE! 2000 isnt nearly enough for a tranny alone.

DO IIIIIIEEEET!

i can get trannys for about 200 to 300 from audi a4 2.8 model for the longer gears...and the vr6 or 1.8 would be built... just like my old motor was....

and why wouldnt' i be able to get my prelude to be AWD for under 2k....

just get the subframe for either an a4 or an R32/TT and make it work... it woudlnt' be THAT bad...

If you want to do an AWD swap, your best bet would be to do a CRV block and drive train swap with a B16 head. You get the extra torque from the B20 block with AWD and the massive power from the VTECH head. I'm planning on doing that to my Prelude. The H22A I have in it just isn't cutting it anymore.

You may be low on turn signal fluid. I had that ticking sound too but at 100000 miles. I the whole thing.

Why would you need to order Ice Packs? They sell them everywhere. Make sure it sits INSIDE your intake tube for optimal cooling effect. Honda's VTECH system runs better with colder air.
