Do you know if theres a way to make the front glove box usable on the 4th gen ? I think I might be missing all the extra space in that center hub after the conversion but ill be able to lay things accross the back seat and ..

DRINK HOLDER!!! Does it hold slurpees good ?? .. (I'm excited now .. w00t)

and mind if I message you in the future when I get the parts for some help in makin the change over ?

sorry... the front glove box in a lost cause. The only thing I can think of is if you have a passenger side airbag. You could take out all the airbag equipment, and then leave the cover on. Then you could lift the cover off and store things in the space. Very covert

I'm actually brewing up a plan to fabricate a cup holder on my 93 console. it seems like there might be enough space right behind the ebrake. I already grabbed a cupholder piece out of the backseat of a 5th gen at the junkyard, and I'm probably going to try and mold that into my console. gotta learn how to use bondo first though...

With the glove box, I don't have the passenger side air ... so I am thinking I have some space back there I might be able to play with if I grab like rubbermaid or something and cut it out ..

I need to play with bondo too :P ... like .. really though .. why did honda even make that glove box appear? I got my car im like alright, glove box and center console to store **** .... i open the glove box and like .. wtf ?

go pre, did you mean 92 console? .. I have a thread in members rides where a person posted me some pics of the 93+ center console and back seat ... good to see the difference s.. the e-brake is totaly concerning though.

The glove box fits your owners manual, and other documents (insurance, registration) perfectly...

i had a 94 console swapped in before, in place of my long box, but i never got around to moving the ebrake. once i figured out that you can't move the ebrake, i bought a 93 console and put that and the old ebrake back in. 92-93 are interchangable.

i used to have a 92 lude and i loved that long arm rest. if you cut out the bottom of it, you can fit a 12 disc cd changer in it :-D save you trips to the trunk. if i had one in my car now, you know the PS2 would be in there.

I have been thinking about buy a 94+ console, and cutting it to make it fit around the 92-93 rear box. Of course I will have to buy the 94+ ebrake and boot and get them welded... but no big deal really. In my head it is do-able. I am going to take some measurements tomorrow.

you can't weld the 94 ebrake in the right spot for it to fit, because there's no metal support for it. it needs to have that extra reinforcement to hold the car when the brake's engaged.

yohan: There is NO cupholder in the '93. None, nada, nothing, not at all. The '93 console looks EXACTLY like the '92 from the back of the e-brake forward. If you do the swap, you gain a little more room in the back, but lose all your 'hidden' storage space. To me, the storage space was required to make up for that crappy glovebox. If you need help with the swap, PM or email me (mciampag@vt.edu), I can help you out. Try searching the boards though, I know I figured it out with help from someone else's thread, but that may have been on hondaprelude.com.

go pre: I've read about people who have in fact swapped '94 consoles into '92 or '93 cars. I can't give you proof or even names, but I know people have claimed to have accomplished that.

yeah i had the 94 console in there too, no ebrake though. every body shop and mechanic i took it to said you couldn't just weld the ebrake over to the side, you had to add more reinforcement from below. i'm sure people have just welded it on and called it a day... but it is a safety concern if you do that.
