Just got a 93 Si, have a question...

My brake lamp light is on, and just to clarify it isn't the E-brake light... think it might be because of my alarm... i have a K-9 alarm, could it be it? I checked all of the lights, not any of them..

if your brake light is on, it may be due to low brake fluid. Aside from the parking brake being applied, I can't think of any other reason for your brake light (on the instrument cluster, right?) to be on.

The parking brake has a whole different light. I am going to have a mechanic look at it, and somehow i have to put a catalytic converter in it so i can take it out after it passes smog... it is on the instrument panel, and from what i understand a brake lamp light means that one of your lights is out.

Well my ABS light comes on after i get above 10 mph. I have plenty of brake fluid, and The abs works fine. (Found out today when the rain came) If you or anyone else knows what could cause this let me know.

this used to happen to me

i used to have this, but the light would only come on if i started my car while holding down the brake. if you just press the clutch down and not the break while starting the car i dont think the light will go on. try it, it works for me.

yeah. pictures would be great. the only thing I can think of is one of your brake light bulbs is burnt out. not entirely, but probably the second filament. do a brake check.

as for the question about the ABS light, you can always reset it from the fusebox, but if it always comes up. there might be a true ABS problem which can range from a leak with your ABS modulator or just a dirty ABS sensor.

have you check your third brake light?, it might be that one. I was puzzled myself and it drove me crazy for days until i noticed my third brake light was out on my 93 si. Its the one mounted high on your rear window. maybe that will help.

Thats probably what it is cuz I have the same problem where the brake lamp light will come on, userally after hitting the brakes. Just replace that bulb and you should be strait.

My ABS light has been on for years, but I know its cuz my ABS is shot.

I had same thing when i bought my 93 SI. It happend right after i hit the brakes.. Its the filament not all the way broke.. It is usually the top one in your back winsheild. They have a plastic piece you take off and 2 bulbs I took them out and changed them. WHAM break lamp light never came on since and that was in July. Lol but i also had one out in the taillight, so i would check them all even if they look good they might not be. I learned that the hard way.
