What projectors did you use (they look like Hella, Audi A6) and how long did it take you? I'm going to be practicing MDX halogen projectors on USDM headlights pretty soon.

Used Audi A4 Valeo ECE projectors. It took me about 14-16 hours.

How difficult is it to do a retrofit? Any write-ups anywhere?

No pics of it in the day time. I'll see if I can get some time to do it. No light leakage that I can see. I didn't use a shroud because I couldnt't find anything I liked that would fit nicely so I just sealed up the projector and put a bezel on it. Not the nicest looking but I'm not really complaining about it.

As for doing the retrofit it's not really that though. I'd encourage more people to do it. Opening up the headlight, taking out the reflector, drilling holes, cutting and all it's pretty easy if you go slow and take the time to measure and test fit. Being creative and making a bezel and shroud maybe be a little tougher. Check out the hidplant.com forums theres some good info there. Even though there isn't one for preludes you can get the main idea. Also do a search here. I took some of the information people used from the 5th gen retrofits and applied it to mine

has anyone used the 4th gen aftermarket projector style headlamps to do the conversion? Just a random curiosity.

You'd have to remove the projector that those come with and put in some HID projectors. The reason is cuz the projector is too shallow and the HID will actually hit the back of the lens. I tried it.....didn't work. The cutoff on those with HIDs would suck anyway.
