just finished installing DC header...

what a pain in the ass. first the cat bolts wouldn't come off, so I took it to the shop and paid $40 to have them take those out. then the O2 sensor was torqued on there so the threads were ruined, another $80. and the metal bracket that holds the header next to the O2 sensor was also broken, but I just said fvck it I'll fix it later.

anyway, after resetting the ecu and taking it out for a spin I was blown away. the car felt like new again. no loud sound waking up the neighbors and acceleration was awesome. granted, I had a major exhaust leak coming from the flex pipe for a couple months before this which was killing performance, but this is the best the car has felt since I bought it. I'm almost considering ditching my plans for the h22 swap - I've never driven a vtec but I can definitely live with the h23. actually, maybe it's a good thing I haven't driven a vtec yet...

Was there actually a noticable difference from the regular stock exhaust manifold to the DC Headers?

I'd say so, but then again my flex pipe was deteriorating slowly so my car was getting slower and slower, so it's hard to tell. but like I said, the car feels faster than when I bought it 2 years ago completely stock, and at that time there was no exhaust leak.

oh yeah one more thing, it was also 93 degrees out when I drove it which would hurt performance as well.

I keep hearing good things about DC headers... I think thats the brand Im going to buy most definitely now. I also heard good comments about Greddy headers but that was from 5th gen owners.

not soo rich $

i cannot afford $300+ USD for a DC cermaic header so i went for the next alternative...
i have a RACTIVE (chromed steel 4-2-1 header) i bought spank new for $290 Cdn $.
i LOVE this header, i'm not sure how it compares to the DC etc..
but i know that when that lude feels wicked past 4200rpms... and when it hitz vtec in 5200 rpms.... it juss spins to redline with frenzy.
get the headers, best mod post weapon*r intake.
peace

i know that feeling. my flexpipe was completely gone and i had a loud car for 2-3 months. putting the dc header on was awesome, although the car is so quiet it almost seems like you lost power... and just to my luck the same week i replaced the header i got a hole in my exhaust. so then i had a loud car for another month until i put my greddy exhaust on...

peace

i love the way it sounds now. the header seems to add a nice growl, not too loud but noticable.

I love my DC CC's... Good choice going with DC, pretty much everyone on here runs with either the DC's or GReddy's.

I had a hole in my flex pipe too...it sucked so bad. But I couldn't justify a header purchase. Personally I think they are not better than stock VTEC.

That Dyno is for a Prelude Si which maybe be proof for you, but isn't for my H22a. I just bought a used stock header for $60. Works fine to me
