eh. I figure it's worth it, depending if I don't have to pay that much for the SC.

Who gives a crap about their crappy superchargers. Have any of you seen the pics. of JR supercharger on Endyn site after some use, well in that case I would check it out. After some miles the supercharger was blowing metal particles into the engine of it's turbine walls and enourmous amount of wear started to happine. They have a bad design, it's better to get Turbo anyways which will blow the **** out the supercharger.

One question: why would you consider supplying your car to JR to test a SC? Yes you get a SC, but they will beat the hell out of your car till they get it right! I could never put my lude through that!
You know, I never really thought of that. I -emailed them about 8 months ago and they told me they were looking for a test vehicle as well, and the owner would receive a DISCOUNT on parts and labor. If I lived in their area I would have done it. For what my car will go through with their testing, everything should be free, and they should give me a bunch of other stuff too!!!

UPDATE: Just talked to the guys at VORTECH, and they said there is a huge demand for the kit and they will have it available at the end of 2002 or the beginning of 2003.

VORTECH
I think this may be my cup of VTEC!!! By then I'll be ready!!!

Yeah I was thinking the same thing (donating my car for testing), until somebody said the same thing to me. After thinking about it I was like "F that man".

2002-2003? hmm I'll believe it when I see it...I guess eveyrone is having the same problems trying to ram it in there...

You have to trust any company that can spell VTEC out of their name!!!!!
He didn't mention anything about the fit, they don't even ahve it for the 5th gens yet!!!
I'll wait and see...I'll give them a call during the summer to check on progress.

Okay, deeply frustrated... had made my mind up to s'charge my 4th gen BB1 'lude, done my homework on boost pressures, swept volumes, decided to install an Eaton based unit and popped the hood this afternoon only to realise there's no easy way to drive the thing !

Are there no other s'charging options - turbos are supposed to be great but it's mid-range grunt I'm after, not top end... ??

Still can't see anything on JRSC site for 4th gen's (no surprise there). Vortech do kits for Civic 1.6 DOHC VTEC's but nothing for 'ludes... (although in principle they're obviously quite similar):

'teg Type-R ->
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...7-01typer.html

Civic SI 1.6l DOHC VTEC ->
http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...9-00civic.html

...and before anyone suggests an electric s.c ... no.

Arg, anyone... help !!

i have done the vortech super charger research also. Area 51, before they close down had a kit already made for a h22 with nooooooooo AC. but to make one wouldn''t be as much. i have a h23, so parts were going to be slightly different, and they wanted close to 6g for that price i would have gone Turbo. haha and they wanted my car for 3 months

There are quite a few 4th gens running around with 5th gen JRSC kits. There are past threads here and on honda-tech regarding different ways it's been done. There's currently an active member with a JRSC 4th gen that posts regularly in the FI forum.

Was there something coming of the blower that caused this damage (pic 7)?
