JDMs and HID?

Has anyone done HID on their JDM one-piecers? I remember somebody sayiing they were going to do it...but I can't remember who. Is this even possible?

I have a deal on a used Vision H4 Kit...would HID look good or not? The headlight assemblies are not specifically for HID right? So I'm wondering if it will not be as good because it is not optimized. Thoughts? Is Vision HID good?

I remember a few weeks ago looking at a post that some person wrote about HIDs being too bright in the JDMs because japanese cars are right hand drive and the jdms in a US car will point at oncoming traffic and blind them. I tried searching for it but I couldn't find it.

Oh dude I did not even think of that! I was wondering why the lights looked funny! The lighting is aimed at oncoming traffic! Doh!

I guess I gotta do a fix on that!

There's a group buy going on now on this board. They install HID's in a projector in your housing and they can do JDM housings. The projectors are the way to go, legal and ethical beam pattern.

As for the lights being right bias, you can compensate for it with adjustments. Not that bad!

Yeah I already found your setup!

Um the Vision kit is orignally made for Audis....

However..I can tell you how to hook up the High beams...it's easy! I just ran the high beam lead from the 9005 harness! It was easy...I now have Hi/Lo on the H4

The only problem with that is the guy at my shop who installed the HIDs didnt recommend me doing that. He didnt want to try it himself cause he didnt want to be responsible for the outcome of the ballast or bulb.

I'm waiting to see someone do it with a relay before doing so.

As for Vision... I could be wrong. But I really doubt Vision makes kits for OEM Audi.... Vision is ran by a small company in Taiwan... Unless of course you meant the kit that you were buying off from came from an Audi, then that makes sense.

Let me know which kit you decide to go on.... my friend has a vision on a 5th Gen... doesn't look too bad. It appears a little more green in color compared to mine. My HID kit almost too blue IMO.

But the relay is merely acting as a switch isn't it? If they work under my current setup...how could it possibly change with HID? It uses the same wires, so there's no increased load or anything...??

What's the deal on these projectors? What do you mean ny ethical beam pattern?

Oh ya: Serious Vision's Website: http://www.lltek.com/about_HID.htm they always refer to Audis...but who cares they work on everything eh?
