jdm vtec changeover

I'm now the proud owner of a JDM BB4 Lude (having owned a UKDM before). There are quite a few interesting differences between the two. So far i'm really chuffed with it. The only slight concern is this: As expected, v-tec cuts in in every gear and revs right upto the red line. The rev limiter cuts in at 8,000 rpm in all gears. However, in first gear the rev limiter cuts in at 6,500 rpm.... On my UKDM the rev limiter cut in at 8,500 rpm in every gear..... I'm puzzled as to why the limiter would cut in so early in first gear on the JDM and wonderingg what the best way is to go about changing it so that it cuts in at the same point as all the other gears (or maybe even raising the rev limiter point to 8,500 on all gears, as it was on my old UKDM)?
Has anyone else experienced this with a JDM lude?

All help and advice gratefully recieved!!!

^my jdm h22 with jdm ecu doesn't cutout in first gear

and i'm sure the engines are prolly the same so the engine actually only revs to around 7600 rpm (the tach is way off that high in the revs)

hmm odd

it's odd that it only cuts off fuel in first gear at 6500 rpm.

few simple things i'm sure you have already checked:

make sure engine is fully warmed up.
make sure the oil is not running low.
you might want to take apart the vtec solenoid and clean it out with some carb cleaner.
it could also possibly be the vtec oil pressure sensor.

i'm not sure but maybe resetting the ecu could fix the problem. there is no check engine light is there?
