Hey, I have the OEM fogs. You can see them
here

I think the only difference is that the JDM ones have amber lenses compared to the clear US ones. People also say the JDMs have a Carbon fiber looking surrounding piece and the USDMs don't but mine do so i believe they both have them. I think the only difference is the amber lense.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !

Oh man...

There's few people around here who know of my quest for the amber lensed foglights. It's been since late '99, and early '00. I know Lude Conduct remembers me emailing him (may'00, heheh, I still have the email) when I found out he had them. But he had already switched to the clear lenses by then.

I noticed that auction just before I stopped by here. Wow. Louie, Jon, Roger... I will finally have these. Well, maybe. It's just a decent opportunity. Hopefully I will be able to have these is more like it... but with my Ebay luck, someone will bid $300 for these. Oh well. I'll have to pass it up, like I did the Mugen wing in May of last year.... mint shape, it just got too expensive.

Anyway, on to the meat of this artice, and to make this semi relivant and informative--

I've done quite a bit of research on these foggies, and here's when each ones were offered in Japan:

--Amber Lenses--

They were a dealership installed option on the:

Si VTEC from 93-95

Si from 93-95

Private Stage from 93-95

S-Limited Si VTEC in 93 (Only year produced)

Sports Stage in 94 (Only year produced)

Sports Stage Ver.G in 94 (Only year produced, only in 4AT)

Sports Stage Ver.R in 94 (Only year produced, only in 5MT)

Sports Stage Ver.GII in 95 (Only year produced, only in 4AT)

Sports Stage Ver.RII in 95 (Only year produced, only in 5MT)

--Clear Lenses--

Dealership installed option in:

Si VTEC in 91 and 92

Si in 91 and 92

Private Stage in 92 (There was no 91 model)

Hope that helps some of you out, because it took me a while to type, sorta .

I totally know what you're saying. It's going to be rough. But it's really hard when you've been waiting so long for things. Although, I don't know how high I can go on them either.. $$$$$.

I want some JDM Fogs for my 'Lude also. So, from the info I have read... I should go with the Clear lenses since I have a 1992 Prelude, right? I was also wondering if the JDM fogs were the same as the USDM fogs in 1992 since they are both clear lenses. That would help seeing as I am sure it costs far less for USDM fogs. Thanks all...

My car is 93 with clear lenses. But, they may have been swapped while the car was still in Japan...

Yeah, the USDM fogs are the exact same as the JDM clear lens fogs. There is no difference at all in the housing, or the trim piece, which has been a rumor for quite some time now. You should be able to get them from www.hondaautomotiveparts.com , www.manhonda.com , or www.hparts.com , although I don't remember which one it was off the top of my head. There's been extensive discussion about these in the past, and a few members have ordered them within the last few months. Try searching around october/november of last year, I think Gills has a post about exactly where you can get them. If I remember correctly, they're about $252 brand new.

Hope that helps you guys!

They would've had to have been switched already. Were your side indicators clear as well when you took delivery of the car?

The OEM ones are about $252 new, if I remember correctly. I have a feeling the JDM ones on EBay are not going to be cheap, most likely the price of OEM ones new. The only difference is the lenses, so if you don't mind clear, you can get brand new ones. I'm not sure that these JDM ones come with a harness either... it says that they come with relays. I've just been on a two and a half year searchfor the amber lenses, so I think I might go bidding nuts. Unless some really rich person pays an incredible amount of money for them just because they say JDM on them.

Glad I could get you that info before!

-Erik

No, all the other lenses (side indicators and bumper) were orange.
