JDM swap ---> tranny too?

I'm looking at a 92 Si (pretty bet up) for real cheap. I was thinking that I would just swap the motor out for a JDM H22 right off the bat. The motor in the 92 still runs, but if I can get it as cheap as I am planning... why not?

I can get the motor without tranny for $1,750 (is this a good price?) and I can get the 5 speed tranny w/ LSD for another $1,050.

My question is what are the advantages to the two different transmissions? obviously,the stock tranny has 200k miles on it... but as for the gearing differences how do they compare and what will that difference translate to when I'm driving?

I will most likely just get the LSD tranny since the one in there has 200k... but if money is tight...

TIA

1750 is a lot for just the motor... HMotorsOnline has the best deals in the world... just buy the motor from there, and good luck getting the LSD tranny

i think i just bought hmotorsonline last h22a w/ lsd tranny, steve said he only had one. but you need to drive it around to see if there are any problems with the transmission, after 200K i'm guessing there will be. In any case you should try to get another transmission with or without LSD. the h22a transmission has closer gearing

I paid $1850 for my engine/ecu/tranny. I think you can find a much better price than what you have p[osted above.
