jdm swap questions

I posted the same thing on the fifth gen forum, so forgive me, but i figured I could find some help here too.

to thosewho have done a JDM H22A swap, who did you go through, why, and what suprised you? I have a source for a JDM H22A for a good price, but these things don't come with much warranty at all, and there's no apparent quality controls in effect. Convince me that I should do this. I've got the money, the tools, the time and the ability to, but I don't want to dump any money into something that might be only marginally better than waht I have. Ohyeah, I have 130k miles on my block and I go through a quart of oil in about 500 miles. It goes right out the tailpipe. I'm on the fence about getting an imported JDM longblock. HELP!!!

There's write up in the 4th gen FAQ.

I just took a look at it. The technical side of it isn't what I am worried about. I am more concerned about the quality of these imported engines. I am told it is due to strict emissions and expensive registrations on older cars in Japan that these engines make their way over here, but that is all I know. If I buy one of these I have very little idea what I am buying aside from it being a H22a. Hmmm

You pay for what you get. My new JDM H22a runs like a champ. I am sure I and alot of other people here would say hmotorsonline...

I have heard nothing but goods things from them...and mine is a dream.

But you are getting a used engine. Do the correct thing and change out the "easy to swap while motor is out" parts.

Sorry bout this post, lol, im krunked
