After destroying my old USDM H23a1 i went looking for another engine, and today i ordered a JDM spec H23a1. Just wondering if anyone knew the specs on it or if there were any differences in the engine such as more HP, better lowend and midrange, etc.
where did you order a "jdm spec" h23a1 from? i dont know what you mean by jdm spec but there isnt really anything jdm you can put in a h23 considering there was never a h23 non-vtec in japan
ASAP motors, all they deal in is 30k motors from Japan, i have heard that JDM spec have more HP in the H23a1 as opposed to the USDM version, something to do with all the restrictions we have because of pollution

youre not listening man....the motor you bought is not "jdm". the only H23 that is literally "jdm" is the H23A VTEC from the new accord sir wagons in japan. the motor you bought is NOT this one. the one you bought is from 92-96 (92-95 if youre obdI) prelude si's here in the US.
Originally posted by brendon2k I would find out what you are getting. They are telling you its a jdm motor but its not. So are you gonna believe that it has 30k?
I got my motor from ASAP motors, but i bought a JDM H22a..why replace it with the same motor? i got mine shipped to my door for 2100, motor tranny and ecu..the equivilant JDM Si motor was the f22b i believe..2.2 DOHC non vtec....160 hp ect same as the H23 here..peace
I had a bad experence with ASAP.
Motor was damaged when I recieved and they didnt want to do anything about it. When they shipped it they only insured the motor as being worth $1/lb. So, for a smashed dist. and a fuct up TB I got $51
It also took 7 weeks to get the motor after they said they had 1 availible. Asked em about an LSD and they had no clue what I was talking about.
I told you that there is no jdm H23a1 already theredprelude, you are just stubborn... you are most likely just getting another US h23. You should get the VIN number from the engine and check on carfax to see how many miles the car that it came from had when it wrecked.
