projector high beam problem

Hi, i'm new to this forum and i did search this issue but it only brought up new questions. about a week ago i installed new projector headlights in my 93, everything is working fine besides that fact that when the high beams are plugged in, and the light switch is turned on, the high beams flick on along with the lows. if i try and turn them off, the indicator dims and the highs dims a little bit, but remain on. if i unplug them, they don't light up (duh) but the indicator works fine. this ONLY happens with the bulbs that came with the headlights, the stock bulbs work fine.

one solution was to check the grounding box, but that was fine, and i don't know what kind of bulbs exactly, but they might be halogens....
any help or advise will be appreciated

It's because there's no such thing as jdm projectors headlights. You've been had my friend.

Sounds like a wiring issue. Can't tell for sure because I'm not sure how you wired everything or it was plug and play or what.

That's what I thought at first. The wiring was set up exactly like the OEM lights. There was nothing different about the new lights besides the different bulbs

ebay 'JDM' headlights? What do you mean by different bulbs? Just the fact that they are new? Or did they come with a plug and play harness that plugs into the stock ones?

by "different" i mean that they are brighter and came with the headlights. from what people tell me when they see the lights is that they are halogens, but im not completely sure. The whole assembly had plug and play harnesses that clip into the stock harnesses. and yes i did get them from eBay; wasn't too smart of a decision but they are good quality and this is the only problem ive had

the ebay projectors usuall use a weird grounding system somewhere in the headlight, that was my problem and my brights did the same exact thing as yours are doing, they had an extra ground that was hooked up to the low beams so i would ask the seller first

well i wanted to put hids in projectors anyways so i just bought an hid kit and only hooked up the high beams which worked fine, it wasnt until i bought my jdm one pieces and took my other headlights out that i actually saw that they were supposed to be grounded and the actual ground wire had fell down into the housing but if you ask the seller and they tell you exactly where the ground should be, i dont think you'll have any problems but good luck and i hope you spend less money then i did lol
