jdm one piecers - looks close to the stanleys

eBay Motors: Prelude 92-96 95 94 JDM 1 Piece Headlights+Corner Black (item 280335273547 end time Apr-24-09 18:36:57 PDT)

I just saw these on ebay. They are tempting to buy given the price. The only thing that does not look OEM is the fact they dont have the horizontal lines.

They look pretty darn close to the JDM Stanley OEM Honda lights.

Has anyone had experience with these?

Ha, I think that Red2093329 guy asked this question before!!!

I think I remember people somewhat complaining about fitment and harnesses shorting out or incorrect harness wiring. (e.g highs/lows are mixed up or signals didn't work properly)

You could always go for these but for the $80 more, I would go OEM

I remember when I was looking, jdm one's in black were roughly ~200 on ebay. I didn't bother to look what they are now.

Also, I don't know how much you spent on the engine but I bought a whole front clip which saved me money with all the parts I was going to replace.

another consideration is that the lenses on those are plastic. Ive been told all one piece ones are plastic lenses, but I dunno.... The OEM one on my car are glass.

they are cacca.

Don't fit right. Turn yellow dirty in less than a year. They leak. Scratch easily etc. etc.

^ same story with all aftermarket dung

usdm two piece = glass

edm black housing and chrome housing two piece = glass

jdm = plastic (but good quality, no leaks, and somewhat scratch resistant as expected from OEM).

Don't ever buy aftermarket anything. You will regret at the cacca results.

I hope you just meant lights.

Yeah, I meant ALL aftermarket is cacca.

Of course there are exceptions. The high end stuff like Mugen, DC, Buddy Club, Azect are all great OEM quality aftermarket merchandise. But yeah, other than that 99.99% of anything aftermarket is giraffe poopoo.

How you can say ALL is crap and then signal out the main ones.

Mugen is so great right? They make oil caps that don't do anything and socks for your reservoirs and FIBERGLASS bumpers. okay....did I mention they charge way too much for these glorified "ricer" pieces?

Sure they have some good items but I would NOT discount all aftermarket.

DC? are you flipping serious? I would never put a DC product on my car or a friends car. You just lost all credibility right there.

Azect? They make lip kits, doesn't help anything other than looks.

So tell me, since you obviously know so much about the aftermarket, tell how dumb the forbidden short shifter is? Made by a PO member and pretty much the only aftermarket shifter for the 4g prelude.

You need a reality check in what you are saying. Sure you're entitled to your opinions but know the consequences of your actions.

You obviously don't know good aftermarket parts and bad aftermarket parts.

Ive heard a few people talk smack on DC sports since ive been on this forum, whats with that? Is there really anything inferior about that brand? This reminds me of people in music and recording arguing over which $5k studio monitor is better and that the $2k one sounds like ****.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I guess. Ive never seen any benchmark tests concluding that DC sucked...

We've had dyno plots where they did nothing on the headers. Apart from that what else do they make for the prelude? Strut bars? Tie bars? All do nothing for the car. Sure they make it look better but at the base level they do nothing.

Comparing $5k monitors and $2k monitiors are different than comparing a Hytech header and a DC.

If you wanted a music comparison, it's like $2k speakers versus $250 ones. Yes you'll hear a difference.

If you're happy with your DC products that fine. Just don't go around thinking they are worth more than your OEM parts.

yes, you are right and I am wrong. I lost all my credibility here and I have no clue what I am talking about.
