JDM Mirrors : Fold when Door Locks?

Can anyone tell me if it is possible to connect the JDM mirrors to the door locks. My alarm will lock and unlock the doors so I figure if I can get the mirrors to fold whne the doors are locked it would be nice. The only time I fold my oem mirrors is when I leave the car so it makes sense....

Can this be done?

I can also tell you how to do it. Send me a PM with what type of switch you have for the power mirrors (how it works), and what type of alarm system.

As far as I know its the same procedure as rigging an alarm to do any sort of extra function (ie. rolling up windows, opening sunroof, etc.)

would you really want to have it fold when your doors lock though? Do you ever drive with your doors locked?

BTW you know the key also has to be in the on position for the mirrors to work if you used the harness.

Very good points guys. I never thought of it. My alarm which is an old CrimeStopper (don't even think then make it anymore) locks the doors when the car is turned on so that is out of the question.
I guess I would have to do it off of the Alarm.

you'll need to buy a new alarm system first....or if you have the programming information most alarms with ignition controlled door locks (locks when you start the car) is a feature that can be turned off.

What you are wanting to do though, would only require a compatible alarm (something by DEI like Viper or Python) and about $10 in parts. all that would be needed is two relays and a couple of diodes.
