JDM Mirror Update : Help

Well I got everything assembled and it all works well expect for the drivers side. When I move the mirror from the stock (open) position to the closed position it will move about a 1/4 of the way and then stop and start clicking.
Nothing more discouraging than being this close and having this happen. Really sucks!
Has anyone seen this before. I take it there is something wrong with the mechanisms internals. Any ideas?

Thanks

ive had this happen to me before. im not saying to do this but.... it worked for me.

hit the folding button, look to see if they try to open or close.... if it tries to open and gets stuck half way then go out there and pull out the mirror(s) that isnt opening all the way... vice versa might work as well.

seems to happen to me when people try to fold my mirrors in manually. everytime if reset the mirrors this way theyve worked correctly...

but i do stress looking into this more, i havent taken the mirrors apart to see if this could break anything, but mine havent had a problem. goodluck getting them working right

Thanks for the quick reply. I just tried that but it doesn't work. There is something definitely wrong with mechanism inside. I'll have to decide whether I want to take it apart now.
I e-mailed the e-bay seller I got them from but I'll have to wait and see what happens.
I can't think of where else I'm going to get just one mirror.

Yeah I hear ya.... The only reason its so hard to wire is cause the documentation alot of the time is so lacking...... I hopefully will be changing this. I have a lot of picutures so I should be able to contribute quite a bit to clearing this up.

Thanks again for your help.

I had the same prob with the pass. side.... turns out there was a clip retainer on the inside.... that holds the turn piston in place. Check to see if the C-clip is in place.... it's REALLY easy to take these apart.. just don't be scared . Seriously ... at first I was reluctant to do it... but then I said Ah Fawk it!. Once I had it open.. I got a better understand of how it works. If this isn't the problem .. then Keep trying what X01VTEC said to do... eventually the gear will pop back into place .. (I am not responsible for any damages that may occur when trying this... hehe.. felt I had to put this in). Good luck bro.

Thanks for the reply bro.... I will take it apart tonight. I got as far as taking the cover off that sits over the motor and just stopped there. I'll go the rest of the way tonight I guess.

Thanks
