JDM mirror question

ok how many of you guys have function mirrors.

that not the question, my question is: is one or two relays used to control the mirrors?

where is the relay normally place in a JDM Lude? is it located in the doors, behind the dash, or some other weird place?

Thanks in advance

Hien

That's just it man.. that question's never been answered. Noone here (or anywhere to my knowledge) has OEM functioning mirrors. I know a lot of peoples who works, including myself, but noone has ever gotten the prelude relay to work. I'm the only one I know of that actually even has the real relay for them, everyone else either used RadioShack relays, or the Integra mirror relay. If you wanna know how to wire them that way, look in the FAQ.

i am debating buying JDM relays and having them wired up. I have JDM mirrors already they move with the actually adjustment button. but i dont' have a JDM switch so it can close or open. I am planning to have them close and open with my Door alarm.

maybe U.K VTEC can gives some insight.

if you only want them to open and close with your door alarm, then its as easy as splicing the wire that goes to your locks, and wire that to your mirrors.

you shouldn't even need a relay.

no because without a relay, you need a power source that lasts the duration of time it takes to open and close the mirror. You CAN wire them w/o a relay, but then you need to manually supply/cut off the power to the mirror after it has fully opened or closed. The only way to put it onto an alarm with a signal output such as a door lock signal, is with the factory relay which noone on ebay who sells mirrors knows where to look for it or how to wire it. The ones on ebay, even if they come with the mirrors, aren't made for the prelude, they're for the Integra, cause apparently they're easier to get to or something, since noone can find the right relay to sell with the mirrors. But, even if they did sell the right relay, noone knows how to freaking wire it. I have the relay, just no means to wire it correctly. I'd need a JDM Drivers side door wire harness to figure it out, since I already have the main harness.

If you can wait until the weekend, I'll take my drivers door panel off and see what is inside.

Thanks U.K. Vtec

And Lucke i agree with prelude styl on not wiring it directly to the door switch. anyhow i have my windows roll up with the alarm so gettin them to close with my window aint nothing but a thing, but one of the motors in my mirror adjustment broke on me, and i got pretty annoyed, i hate to have the folding motor burn out on me since i paid for the mirror, and to have them painted.
