jdm lsd tranny

i am going to buy a jdm tranny tomarrow. the guy said it has a phantom grip lsd in it. 1st question is how do i tell if it has lsd when tranny is out of car. 2nd question....are these junk? pictures of them seem to be a cheap version of a quife with out the full unit

Do a search on phantom grip. basically I remember it just being crap. Better than open diff? maybe but not anything great.

so is it better than the one in m2b4 tranny? i dont understand why this guy put this diff in when it had one from factory. when i asked he said he bought it with a swap with turbo setup and the friend he bought it from had it installed so it would hold more power. i thought yeah right.

^yeah sounds weird then.

The OEM is better than a phantom grip.

I would search on serial numbers (cause I don't remember) to help identify if it's a real jdm lsd tranny rather than a usdm one with a phantom grip
