JDM Headlights Flaring adjustment

I know that JDM headlights flare up on the driverside. I was wondering if anyone knows how it does that and if we can "un-flare" it, since HID kits are soo cheap now, i really wanted to get a set and NOT blind oncoming traffic. O yea, can someone also tell me the temperatures and their relative colors on the HID kits? Thanks.

i have the exact same problem. you can get the europe headlights. they are just like the jdm's but they are two pieces instead of one piece. but they flare on the right side. we dont have projectors in the jdm so theres really no way to fix that flare.... it really sux how we cant adjust it. but what you can do it just lower it a little so it doesnt hit oncoming traffic too bad. i bought a hid kit aswell. didnt install it yet tho.

i cant find the links but ill get you the links to some faqs when the website is back up.

check out hid-online.com or www.hyperformanceauto.com, hyperformance auto is where i got my hid and they have amazing customer support. he can help you out with everything. you want the name of the guy i talked to, i can tell you.

does anyone else maybe know a solution to this flaring problem?

btw, where are you planning to get ur hid and how much?

I am still looking around...basically for the differences in Temp and color, installation difficulty, and reliability. Since they have been cracking down on them in CA, its harder to get replacement ballasts and other parts. What would you recommend? I heard McCollough was good. I might just get one whether or not theres a solution cuz people here dont give a crap anyways...they will just think my car is one of the hundreds of SUV's on the road.

lol, werd. thats what i say. some peoples headlights are so off aim that its 10 times worse then hid and suv's. and it wont even bother them so much. hid-online.com orders them from europe, so thats how they are able to keep selling them. well as for the temp and color and everything. i think 4100k or 4300k is pure white light and will give you the most output possible. as you go up on kelvin, the output goes down and becomes more colored. i think 6000-7000k is a little purplish. and the blue is like 8000k, 9000k. my bro has the 8000k and i absolutely love it. it looks very good. and the output is very nice aswell. i guess thats up to you. dont think those bmws and audis have 8000k kits tho. they are 4100k, its just that the projectors in the headlight cuts up the spectrum and gives the blue appearance at different angles. well, before i start giving you a whole lecture, i think its best that i get those websites with all the info on it and if you have any question, you can post here.

check these out, just make ur own decisions and dont listen to their opionated comments.

just some advice. pictures of xenon on the web are very very deceving. it may look white/blue on pics online but it may come out purple in real life. pictures are very unrealiable when it comes to light unless they really did it professionally like adjusted the shutter timing and **** like that. otherwise, pictures dont help much. damn cameras.... when will they make a camera that just takes pictures the same way you see it already... damn!

you can adjust them, of course, but not to get rid of the flare. I sat there and tried for like an hour, adjusting this way and that way the other night.. still has a RH flare. Oh well, they'll just have to deal with my HID's... buahaha

I dunno, I personally don't like the ones sold on ebay at all, they may or may not be good quality, but they look ugly IMO. As for the projector retrofit, it takes a lot of work, but if you're crafty enough to do it, more power to ya.

yep, i dont like those headlights either and dont know about the quality and projectors retrofitting takes a lot of work and precision.

the jdms only allow adjustment from up and down and left to right. it does not do anything else. the flare is a problem... only way we could eliminate it i think is to tape up the part of the reflector thats making the flare but thats hard and i wouldnt like tape in my reflector.

http://www.casperselectronics.com/cg...oduct=SPECIALS

if that link doesn't work, go to the main site, and look under the specials category.

It's the last product on the specials page.
