JDM Headlights : Cleaning Lenses

I recently got a set of JDM lights for a good price. I wanted to take the lenses off and clean then so that they look their best. Now thinking it over I thought that maybe giving it to a shop would be a better idea since these aren't that easy to come by and I don't want to mess it up.
I called a local shop in town and they told me that they don't crack them open because there is a 50/50 chance they could break the lenses.
Has anyone tried this before and if so do they have a set procedure or an idea of how they did it? I found this but I'm not sure if it applies to all lights or just that specific model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The lenses are sealed, and it might be possible to open them up, but I wouldn't recommend it, because it will be difficult to not crack the lenses and it takes heat to melt the glue, and with the heat you might melt the plastic. there's just alot of variables involved and they are hard to come by, so I would not mess with them. my two cents.

i know i was just messing no offense intended i hope u know that., but like like i said, your best bet would be to try and find a contact in japan and see if they ve ever had that problem and see what they do about it, cause it doesnt seem like anyone has ever openned up their jdms. if not, i wouldnt recommend openin them up, the plastic is very fragile, and it wouldnt be worth it to mess it up. But if u think you knw what your are doing, you can always try and see what happens. can u take apicture so we can see exactly what you are talkin bout, that might help find a solution, its kinda hard to just go by description. When i opened my edms, it was a real pain, and mine are glass, so plastic, i would not recommend unless its something that is preventing the light to work.
