on my drivers side headlight one of the sockets are melting/burning. its causing my headlight to not work until I take out the bulb and scrape off all the burt stuff off the socket. I just used the USDM wire and wired it to the JDM socket. I only had about 1/2 of an inch of JDM wire to work with though. TIA

What kind of bulb are you using? Using a bulb rated at more than 55Watts might cause damage to your harness. If you're running a 100W bulb I'd expect damage.
BTW off topc but......cute boxer........I had one while back.....I miss him so much.
My JDM driver side one is already a bit melted.. it was like that from japan believe it or not ...
I've got PIAA H4's the one bulb wont work because its burnt .. I can't say if it was from the harness or not but doubt it .. my bosch 44w H4 are still good but whenI get a replacement piaa bulb I'll have an update
(PiAA plug .. holy f*!! I had one bulb only and it was WAAAAY brighter than the generic H4 bosch bulbs that were in there.. damn!)
you can also get those high wattage harness from autozone, thats where i got mine from. I was carefull enough when i got my EDMs lights, cause i had the same problem with my usdm high wattaged bubls, so i didnt let the problem carry over with the new lights. i have some pics of mine somewhere if u do a search ( type high wattage harness or something )

^^^ why rewire to the battery ?no need for that really. The higher wattage harnesses come with 3 prespliced thick gauge wires. All u need to do, is connected them to your stock wires, low beam red and black for pos and ground, and the 3 wire of the high wattage harness to your high beam positive wire if you wish to you the 2nd filement on your h4 buld for high beam. And thats it. No rewiring to anything such as battery or anything else.

That's wierd....I used Silverstars for almost a year with not a single problem. I bought some Silverstars at the same time for my best friend and he's had them ever since and never had a single problem (on a newer Mitsu. Eclipse). I bought them because they were brighter than stock but also the appropriate wattage. The only reason I took them out was because I got HIDs.
But yeah.......a higher wattage harness should do the trick.
