JDM Headlight install questions HELP please

1st question, im home... doing this alone and I need some POers help.
Where are the first 2 body clips that you are supposed to remove? What about the first 2 philips head screws?

So as you can see I am no where so far in the process. Please let me know ASAP so I can get this done. Thanks guys/girls.

Hope this helps Pat.

• remove all hardware which connects the bumper cover to the radiator support. Leave the five or six body clips IN which are located directly on top of the bumper cover. Leaving them in ensures that the bumper cover and rebar come off in one piece. REMOVE EVERYTHING ELSE
• remove the little grills next to headlights
• remove turn signals that are located under headlights
• once you remove those, you will see two bolts on each side of the car which hold the metal bumper to the frame of the car. You will need a long extension in order for the socket to reach those.
• then there are two bolts on each side of the car in the wheel wells which connect the bumper cover to the fender. Remove those.
• Place a large thick blanket from your bed under your bumper cover so that if it falls unexpectedly you will not damage the paint.
• Then there is one bolt on each side of the car in the engine bay. There is one bolt kind of under each headlight (looks bronze / gold in color). Remove those. The one on the drivers side is easy to get to but on the passenger side you have to loosen your battery tie down and move your battery out of the way for easy access.
• Then you just have to pull the bumper cover off. When you do this the bumper cover and metal bumper come off in one piece and you don't have to worry about the tabs under the headlights.

It's as easy as that but it takes some time and it is better if you have another person to help you pull off the bumper carefully.

Once you have this out of the way you will be exposed to the headlight assembly and can easily see all the bolts necessary to remove the OEM assembly.

Mark

oh my god are you even looking at your bumper??

There's two screws at the very top of the bumper holding some plastic.

The clips are at the wheel well holding the bumper on.

Are you reading the FAQ article?

Thanks Mark

The bolts in this step:
• once you remove those, you will see two bolts on each side of the car which hold the metal bumper to the frame of the car. You will need a long extension in order for the socket to reach those.

what size are they? I think I have the wrong sized ratchets cause the 1/2 is too small and the 9/16 is too big.

SATANSRV: yea i read the FAQ, and I found 2 body clips under the bumper... but i do not see and philips head screws.

Well, being a Japanese car I would assume you'd want metric ratchets; I believe you'll need 8, 10, and 12mm ratchets to remove the bumper. Those bolts you'll need the extension for are 10mm, I think.

Yes, definately metric, if I remember right, those bolts you are talking about are 12mm. You need a helms, the install was cake with the helms. Took less than an hour, including taking the old lights out.
