JDM H4's questions

Will running the H4's high beam filiment on my JDM one-pieces melt my wiring or my light switch? I'm running it like that now, but I've came across wiring kits that keep everything from melting when running higher wattage bulds. Has anyone had any problems?

It best to wiring them straight to the battery with a few relays and use slightely thicker wiring.

to answer your question... no. unless you're running higher wattage bulbs, then i dont know. i've had mine running since late November without a hitch.

all you need is 2 relays. you cant do it any other way because the low beam filament needs to shut off when you flick on the high beams or else the bulb could explode. the only way to do that is with relays.

Really? I hooked up the hi-beams by running the wiring to the two tabs on the sides of the bulb. Looking at the back of H4 as it is installed in the housing, I connected the left tab (-) and the right tab (hi-beam positive) to utilize the hi beam. I would be running the low-beam if I were to use the left tab (-) & the top tab (low-beam positive). The harness I have let you connect any of these wires.

My question is: Will running the higher wattage filement cause my light switch to run too hot?

I had come across a web site that said this could be a problem & was trying to sell a wiring kit for this. but it only seems to to an extra 10 watts.

as long as you run the high filament separate from the low filament, you'll be fine. In other words, you shouldn't have both the high and low filaments on at the same time, but they can be used separately.

so you have both the high beam and low beam filament working this way? bad idea

No, I'm running the hi-beam filiment on the H4's, not both at the same time.

There are two gears on the back of each of the JDM Headlights, you use a screw driver. I think you have to turn the outside gear to raise & lower the beam or turn the inside gear to aim them from side to side.

why? you're blinding traffic all the time. its even worse with JDM headlights since they are designed to aim somewhat higher to the left since it came from a RHD car.

I get high beamed as it is running only low beams... i can't imagine what drivers around you think.

No complaints so far. You can aim them also by loosening the bolts that hold the headlights to the frame.

its not that, its how the reflectors are designed.

pull up to a wall and turn on your headlights. you will see that the light has a sort of eyelash projection to it. The higher part of the "eyelash" is on the left side.

Do the same thing with a new model car and the "eyelash" will have the higher point on the right side to illuminate road signs and not to blind oncoming traffic.
