i've been running on my h23 ecu for 5 months since i did the swap because the company sent the wrong ecu. Well they finally sent one and it was an automatic ecu converted to a 5 speed.....Well when I first start it the idle jumps back and forth and sometimes almost stalls out(did once) but eventually it stays at about 1500 rpms. Then when I give it a little gas (in nuetral) it bogs down alot and sounds like its backfiring or something and gonna stall out. If i just give it a little i can get it to go above 2000 rpm's it will go but its really jerky.....Well i just realized today that it does all this until the engine warms up to half way on the guage......once it hits that half way it runs great(smooth) and vtec kicks in and everything(kicks in at 3500 rpms..?? i think cause it was an auto)
I just wanna know if theres anything i can do to correct this........Ignition, fuel?? any Sensors?
hmmm, thats odd. I have a JDM p13 converted to manual also.
I had a few problems in the beginning. The first time you start the car with the ecu it WILL do that. Are you getting any Cels. Or did you get any? Did you set you timing with the jumper jumpered? After that you gota get rid of that by setting your idle skrew. Did you check ALL of your vaccume lines. Including your secondaries under the TB? Those connectors break off easily. How long does it take your car to warm up? Your Vtec should not kick in at 3k. You should make a Vtec light and see when it really kicks in just to be safe.
Dude by reading this i really think your vaccum lines are wrong. Seriously. Make sure the ones on the drivers side are correct. There will be 3 different vac lines near the timing belt. there will be a metal connector with 3 connections. One is bigger then the rest and comes from the TB. The other 2 are the same size. These are easy to get reversed. Mine were for a while. I can take a look at mine tommorow and see which one is on top. I think the smalle one coming from the drivers side of the TB goes on the bottom. But im not sure right now.
Whats wrong with Hmotors?

i got the the motor from japan direct....they were really helpful and fast except for the ecu problem...
The problem is i really wanna do all this stuff myself but i'm still learning so its hard to identify everything......I ended up have someone install the engine for me because of not having the right tools, so i didnt adjust the timing myself. It takes about 10 minutes or maybe more for the car to warm up. I'll try and look at the vaccum lines to make sure they look correct...how many are there all together? Another problem is i've noticed it feels like its still pretty rough after it gets warmed up....kinda rough and feels alot less powerful then when i had the h23 ecu plugged in....Thats the other weird thing.....when i had that plugged up it ran perfect...i had no problems...but i even bought a 5 speed h22 ecu off ebay and that ran even worse then the one i have plugged in right now.......could it still be the vacuum lines even though it ran fine on the h23?
Thanks for your help
Jonathan

Thats really wierd. Mine ran better in the beginning with the sohc ecu. After all the vaccum lines were correct all those problems went away. Wierd IDLE, Loss of power and other random problems, like stalling.
