I think I have decided to look into getting a h22a and get rid of my h22a1, from what I have heard they are alot faster, stronger ext. My thing is I have no Idea where to buy it from, I want to get the tranny with the lsd in it. Where can I get one from, thats reputable and has good prices. How much would it run me for this swap. I will do all the work myself.
I was going to build up my A1 but I could spend the same on a new engine as I could just to build my head on my A1.
just stay with the A1 they are pretty uch the same. Yo can use the money for the A1 and make it extremly faster then a JDM. Think about what you are doing here. Do some research on what you have first man. You are talking like 5hp here for a couple g's.
Yea there's not point in swapping an USDM H22 for a JDM H22. Now if you had an H23 or f22 then it will be worth it. Spent the money on more accessories
Yep, dnt see the point myself, just look for some new higher compression pistons and an good exhaust system, you'll basically have an engine better than JDM then.
Exactly... Save your money and put Type S pistons, Crower Stage II cams, and get some headwork. Your engine will pull all over the JDM engine for less money.
I hope preluderacer023 doesn't read any of this... he'll flip. Jdm h22s are a godsend in his mind!
I think I'll end up trying to find a h22a1 out of a wrecked lude or sumthin... If i can't find one, I guess I'll just spend the 3gs for the whole jdm thing.

I was including install and everything, although I guess If I got a helms, I could do it myself. Also, If I were you, I'd go ahead and swap out the tranny... you'll be much more satisfied in the end.

And are you saying that it is better to get a JDM H22 then to keep the one he has? Please tell me you are not that ignorant. Also you stated that you should spend the extra money on a H22 tranny, that you would be much more satisfied in the end, well have you driven a H22 with a H23 tranny? Have you driven a H22 with a H22 tranny? I have a H23vtec with a H23 tranny, and had a H22 tranny as well but the amount I spent for the tranny is not even close to worth it. I have LSD in my H23 tranny and I have yet to even come close to losing to any H22 heavily modded (w/o FI of course). Now speak on that brotha.

Are you serious dude? Of course i've never driven a h23 vtec or a jdm h22, you know my car's stock man, so why even ask me that?
In your first sentence, I don't understand who you're referring to, the only reason I said I hope jon doesn't read it is because everyone was saying to stick with the USDM h22 and if he read it, he'd have justifiable reasons why the j-spec is a better engine. I was just kidding around, I wasn't trying to be "ignorant" to anyone.
About the tranny... I was going based on hearsay, which has been that the h23 tranny is a great matchup as well as a real money-saver, minus the fact that the gearing of the h23 limits the speeds that the h22 wants to go, which I guess it wouldn't matter if you have a LSD, because that governs the cars top end as it is, correct?
Also, I don't understand where the whole h23vtec topic came from. I, nor has anyone else said anything about an h23 vtec besides you in this thread, so where'd that come from?
I guess my interpretations were incorrect. Pardon me for offending you or whatever the hell I did.

doesent the h22 tranny, have shorter low gearing for acceleration? Hey, should I get type s pistons, or forged? If I get forged I have to get new sleeves, How does the machine shop put in the new sleeves? Dont they make oversized type s pistons, so I can just bore my stock sleeves, and put the new pistons in?
What I am saying is that my motor is basicly the same as the H22 and I was more than happy with the H23 tranny, were you said he should spend the extra money for the H22 tranny. I wanted to know why you said that when you don't have one or have driven one. Why give info that you are not sure of? And if anyone said to get rid of a perfectly fine H22A1 for a JDM H22, I think they would be classified as the dumbest mofo out there. So, you saying that about preluderacer is not your place. I don't care what the JDM h22 puts out, for the amount it cost to buy one, you can make a A1 3-4 times faster.
