JDM H22 install. Please help!

Ok, heres the deal, i recieived my motor monday and i have all the parts ready for the swap. I talked to a guy who was suppose to be very good at all this and he was suppose to put it in but i cannot find him. He works at best buy and i have left 3 messages for him to call me. Now im starting to think he is not going to do it and all the other shops around are kinda clueless about this. I thought about doing it myself but i really dont think i have the knoledge to. What would you guys do? I dont have aa helms either.

No helms, no love. I would not attempt the swap without a helms.

I did 5 swaps (2 in, 3 out) on a weekend. The helms saved us many times. And you can't do it by yourself, it's just too hard without a couple hands.

honestly the swap isnt all that difficult, i have confidence that if you follow the helms manual you could do it yourself.

I just think you need a few people when you haul the engine out. Disconnecting everything is easy enough. Breaking sensors and things mid swap sucks!

well i would like to do it myself and i have been reading a few of the swap write ups and many of the have different ways of doing things and even say different parts that you have to switch over from the h23 motor. i dont know all the parts i would have to switch over and reading some of these write ups just makes it look more confusion. If i could get the exact info i need then i would prolly do it myself. I have H22 w/o tranny with a jdm p13 ecu. i also have an exedy clutch to install, greddy header, energy suspension fix kit, balancer belt and timing belt, and water pump. Thats the parts i have and from what i have read i have the cange out the distributor, fuel rail, rear motor mount, and plugs and wires. someone fill me in on some more info because this is a big thing and im very worried about it.

ok, you can do it by yourself. I did 2 times in the last 2 months. Just me and no help. Sometimes its easier when you dont have to worry about the person thats helping you messing up. Like removing the powersteering fluid lines. haha. I can do a complete write up for you. But the helms is a definate help. I did mine the second time with no helms. Just my hanes. haha. You just gota make sure you have the right torque specs, especially for the flywheel/clutch, dont wana snap any bolts. But you need a lift. DO you have one? If you do it yourself expect at least a week the first time. One thing that helps is some old carpet to put under the engine. That way when your down there your not getting coolant in your hair. haha. Ill do a complete write up for you but I need a day to do it. Some of these guys may want to add stuff caus i tend to forget stuff. Every time you do it you get faster. And dont mess up your Cvs. It took me over and hour to rebuild mine. What a pain. And sometimes shortcuts end up being Long projects. SO dont try to cut corners. I prolly spent a total of 4 hours just on the Cvs, just caus i was trying to do it faster. Stupid me, now i know better.

Its just weird because when i pop the hood i see so many lines and parts that i dont even know what they are and it just seems impossible to me. oh well that write up would be great help man. if anyone has any more info please help me out here. A lift would be so much better.......taking the engine out from the top with an engine hoist will make you cry like a little girl. It's such a pain in the ass!

I've seen engine lifts for $100ish. Kragen had a sale one time.
