JDM Folding Mirror ?'s

I just got a set of folding mirrors and I got the switch and the relay (don't know if it's good or not), but I need a wiring diagram, I searched and didn't come up with anything. Also everyone says the driver's side is convex, mine don't appear to be.

when you say driver's side... do you mean in RHD or LHD?

http://students.washington.edu/krist...rs/mirrors.htm

http://www.geocities.com/dwnlow91/JDMmirror.html

the first one is for a civic, the second one is for an inegra
the wiring should be relatively the same...

i'm going to be doing a write-up on how to modify the radio shack relay to close the mirrors when you push the button, instead of having to hold it down...

Neither one seems to have a convex mirror and I was talking about LHD.

Thanks, for the links

Have you installed them yet? You'll be able to tell that the mirrors are different when you sit in your car. I personally like the mirrors, it gives you a broader view, and I have no isssues with adjustment of the mirrors, everything works great for me.

Haven't installed them yet and it will probably be a while. I was kinda thinking once I'm actually looking through them it would probably be more noticable, I'm also going to have to try and switch housings, cuz the JDM's I got are in horrible shape.

are you sure of that? I did that on my accord, and the prelude mirrors pretty much seem like they would work in the same way.

?? do you know why, I'm thinking either the housing are a little bigger or no place to mount the additional motor.

You can swap the piece that mounts to the car, but not the actual housing of the mirrors (I don't think.. when I got mine, I looked and it didn't seem like I could).... maybe I'm wrong.

Member Gabe just swapped out the JDM motors onto his USDM housings. He has a 5th Gen, I would'nt see how they would be that much different? Just a hunch.

ok as for gabe, did he have a 4th gen? mirror and just swap out the motor, or did he have a JDM 5th gen. i seem to be the only current JDM mirror guy right now. so all you bishes get ur JDM, i got no cameria to do a FAQ/Walk throught, i can help you as you go alont. as for the question about the mirrors, yes one is convex and one is concave. easiest and cheapest way to fix that. pop out ur stock USDM mirror, and pop them onto the JDM work perfect. ok the actually motor looks like it won't come out. it is weld or something to the actual housing. but i dindt' give it too much of an attempt. the motor is actually in the mirror part and not in the base part. it had lil tabs to try to force it otu, it was a no go for me cause i was tryint to get it to work. next as for the wiring, the mirror it pretty straight forword. the black wire is the negative and the other is positive. and the other 3 wires goes with teh mirror control. i plug my mirror into a 12 volt sorce and it open. reverse the current and they close. easy as that. w00t w00t.

No, the USDM mirrors have one concave, one convex(notice how there's only one mirror that says "Objects in mirror are closer than they appear"?), the JDM morrors are both concave, giving you a better area of view. It just takes a little getting used to, but it's better IMO. It's like those broadview rearview mirrors, it gives you a better area of view because they're concave.
