JDM Climate Control Questions

Hey guys,

I am researching my JD CC swap and I have some questions.

In regards to the evaporator sesnor I am thinking about doing something a little different. Instead of putting in the JDM evaporator sensor I am thinking about just connecting the JDm Blu/Yel wire to the USDM Blu/Red wire and using the USDM A/C thermostat to control the A/C compressor. My question is about the signal the JDM evaporator sensor puts out. I can see it is a simple thermo-resistor but how does it respond to temperature. I am planning on fooling the JDM CC into thinking the evaporator never gets cool enough to turn off the compressor so it will always put out ground to the USDM Blue/Red wire. What does the evaporator sensor's resistance read when the evaporator is not cool enough to kick off the A/C? Does it read 0 ohm or large resistance?

I also have read the confusion about the VSS and why it is hooked to the CC. I think this is due to the fact that the JDM preludes don't have a Radiator Fan Control Module. I think the CC actually controls the fans as well in the JDM ludes so it needs to know if the vehicle is moving or not. Anyone else agree?

Thanks,

I think your VSS theory is quite right, it does sound logical Oh and about the evap temp sensor I'll check out the resistance on different temperatures sometime this week and yes it's just a simple thermo-resistor, same with the in-car temp sensor and outside temp sensor. What about the sunbeam/sunlight sensor? I still haven't figured it out of why it's there. My unit completely works but it's nice to know how certain parts work and why its there

Hey,

I just got finished lableing all the wires on the JDM harnesses and I am confused on one. On tjhe JDM 20 pin connector there is a peach colored wire in pin 20 but I don't see it in the wiring diagram given by Forbidden. Anyone know what this goes to?

Thanks,

Okay guys,

I got all my sensors and such today and I have another question, where did you mount the interior temp sensor? Short of cutting into the dash I am not sure where to put it.

Also, does anyone know what the pink wire in pin 20 on the JDM harness goes to, it is not on Forbiddens diagram.

Thanks,

The pink wire does not go to anything. It isn't even listed in the JDM wiring diagram. Just cap it off.

Here is a picture of my In-Car Temperature Sensor mounted on my dash:

That is kinda weird that there would be a wire to nothing. Oh well.

That looks like a pretty good place for the sensor. I am just wary about cutting a hole in my dash in such an obvious place. Oh well.

How well does that sensor read the interior temp? Since we are not hooking up the "suction" hose on the back of it it doesn't seem like it would get decent air flow.

Thanks for the response.

I have mine mounted in my center console, it reads the temp great.

And I don't remember what it went to, but I do believe I hooked up the pink wire. I remember having every wire used from the JDM harness.
