jdm center speaker

i just got my speaker and i am about to install but before i go and cutting up my dash i want to know something...is the JDM climate control unit any smaller than the US unit? i ask this because i want to make sure that with the US climate control there is enough clearance on top for the JDM speakers to hang without rubbing

You got balls to cut your dash up like that.

just start off small with a dremel and work your way outward till it fits. ive though about getting this to and the rear 6X9 and some new rear speakers because my **** sounds like ass and i dont like having the extra weight of subs. let us know how it goes man.

i am just really worried that there wont be enough clearance when i cut form the top...cutting the dash is the easy part, having enough room is the hard part

Glad to hear it arrived quickly. I was scared to cut into my dash, plus the added fun of figuring how to wire it in.

Hope you enjoy it, and post pics ASAP

wiring is easy...they come with caps so all i have to do is hook them up to an output but i am really nervous there isnt enough clearance

hmm i posted it but i guess it never went through...it took me about 2 hours but i have it installed and all wired up...it was really easy...i didnt take any pics of the install but it was a lot easier than i though...there are precut marks under the dash and all i had to do was trace them and pop out and then the speaker sat right in there with no problem at all...got it right the frist time ....i will try to take pics but everything is cut up so it will be hard to show from begining to end but you will get the idea

Holy crap, that's awesome! You actually went and did it?

Now you know what you'll have to do: write-up, step-by-step, pics, more pics, a few more pics...

Actually, I do want to know: how does it sound?

haha i will try to take pics but the cutting is done so i wont be able to start from finish to end but it sounds really good...i have mbquart components upfront and i took the input from my amp and split the wires so that 1 goes to the mbquart crossover and the other goes to the jdm speaker...they are more of a high sound than anything else but it is def noticed

do you have it wired so that the left speaker on the jdm center is playing the right channel, and do you have the right speaker playing the left channel? you know... so everyone has an even soundstage...
