Okay, so I've done my time overseas and I came home this past Monday to find that while I was gone I trusted a local body shop with my car when I shouldn't have. I absolutely love this car because its basically endless on what I can do and working on it helps clear my mind. But enough BS about me. I paid a body shop to repair the "Honda rust" that we all eventually have to deal with let's face it as Honda owners we know its going to happen. I paid these asshole's almost $1800 to repair both rear wheel wells and when I looked at it today I noticed that something didn't look right. The driver side is not right. Instead of lining up properly with the bumper there is a 1 inch difference and when I started grinding on it I knocked out atleast 2 inches of filler where they half assed it and tried to build up the collapsed area. To make a long story short the shop is out of business and I'm left with a lot more repair than I started with. Does anyone know where I can buy new quarter panels? Or rust free used panels? I would greatly appreciate the help here and am looking to have this car on the road by the end of summer. I just don't want to deal with the hassle of trying to repair the trash that someone else has caused and I've learned my lesson about trusting body shops. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
some body shops are great some arnt.. you got one that wasnt.. well you can get quarters from honda to the tune of 6 and 7 hundred depending which side.. you could also cut out and shape new mwetal in there... in terms of finding good ones try a junk yard or post in the want to buy area to see if someone on the west coast is parting out a car and will cut out the section you need
I've actually gone to all the local salvage yard and haven't had any luck finding a prelude at all. Living in Columbus, Ohio (the seeming salt capital of the world) anything that I have found that might of had a slight possibility of working was rusted through as well. That's why I am reaching out on here as well to see if anyone might have another outlet I could look into. I appreciate all the feed back and will have pictures of the car up as soon as I get this wheel well repaired and the car painted.
