It's finally done

I'm so happy to say that she's now a 5 speed. The swap took about 3 days to complete. Jordan4WS and 2 of my other friends helped me out lift the tranny in place (too heavy). The rest I just did it myself. I can't wait until the break in period is done.

Setup:
H23 Tranny
Clutchmasters aluminum flywheel (7 lbs)
Exedy Clutch (30% more torque over stock)

Issues: NONE: starter-to-flywheel contact is fine (doesn't grind at all)

That tranny was a pain in the butt to get in place huh?
Now imagine trying to do it with only a 2 foot gap under that car and by yourself. haha man im still sore from that.

yep...tell me about it...that's the hardest part of the whole thing. Good thing there were 4 of us that lifted that sucker in. I test drove her around town today and I can only say one thing: CRAZY! Man I love the lightened flywheel. Revs go up so quickly and it's very responsive.

Hey Brendon: "The day is mine!"

So the revs go up fast, but they also drop fast.

What's so bad about them dropping fast? Just engage the clutch when you're decelerating.

You just have to be a bit quicker in your shifting, that's what I've heard from those who've actually done the lightened flywheel install. From the hours of crap I've read on the flywheel install stories, the pros seem to outweight the cons. Congrats on a successful swap--Auto sucks booty!

Ok I test drove her again today and it seems that sometimes it's hard to get it into 1st gear. Anybody know why? Maybe I need to bleed the clutch more BTW I used genuine Honda MT fluid if that helps...

About the rpms....yea it does drop fast. Sometimes if I shift too slow it bogs down kinda like the engine is about to stall.

You'll get used to the rpm situation, it'll just take time.

You mean it's hard to get in first when you're stopped, or when you're slowing down?

yeah stock flywheels are designed more for people who cant drive stick well. most people with lightened flywheels dont even notice the revs dropping faster...

Your name isn't Justin, you can't play with us with your new car, F/I vs N/A isn't very fair.
