Issue with wipers (intervals)

Do you guys have wiper "INT" switch on the wiper side? I have one, but it doesnt work, is it supposed to switch on and off? the wipers dont move at all. But they do work in like 'low' or 'high'

Also, when I do have the wipers on, and then I turn them off, they do not return to the "home" position, they just stay at where ever I turn the wipers off (middle of windshield). Whats going on? something with the wiper computer?

Yeah, the 'INT' (intermittent) will make the wipers wipe every 6 seconds or so. It's for those times when 'on' is too much and turning them off is no good.

Back to your dilemma, really the only components to check are the wiper relay, which controls the intermittent function also, and the switch itself. Usually, the more common fault is the relay which is located in the internal fusebox.
If you know someone else with a lude, borrow their relay and if the problem goes away, you know how to solve it.

Hope this helps.

I have the exact same problem. It is rained here ever in the desert I would be more apt to fix it. I think it is the relay and I should try to replace mine.

Hey,

Well I would have refered you to the online 4th gen repair manual I found but it appears to have been taken down. Luckly I DL'ed all the PDF's and have found the part in question. It appears that it is located right below the injector resister box at the upper right of the engine bay.

Any other ?'s just ask

HTH,

J

Good stuff Charlie. Where you able to just get the part at a local auto zone store or did you have to order it from a dealership?
