intakes and resonator

Hey I was wondering if it's worth it to just get a replacement K+N filter instead of the whole CAI system, has anyone done it and noticed a difference??? Also, does removing the resonator free up air flow in the absence of a new CAI?? How the hell do you get to and remove the resonator??
Thanks for the info

The drop in K&N is good if you don't want to pay for a whole CAI! To get off the resonator, you must jack up the right front side of the car and take the wheel off (for better access), then you take off the inner fender lining and the right side of the engine splash shield, also you must take out the turn signal lenses on the right side to gain access to one of the bolts. Once that is all done, just unbolt the resonator and take it out. Put it all back together in reverse order and you are set!

Thanks outlawdude, much appreciated. Does removing the resonator add horsepower?? Is there any danger of water getting into the intake or engine?? thanks again

removing the resonator won't give you much..just mabye make your intake a little louder. Without a CAi there is no danger of getting it wet either.

Honestley if your gonna spend he $!6 bucks on a K&N filter spend the extra $10 and get yourself a short ram intake off ebay. Or buy one used from here. Then in the future if you wanted a cai you could spring for one

No problem! No, there is no chance of water getting into your intake! I got a cold air intake of of E-bay for $53 shipped!
