intake noise question??

Hello everybody, i am in need of suggestions for why im getting a popping sound after i rev the engine up or between shifts. After pushing the clutch in if the engine rpm starts to go down i hear a pop from the intake. I couldnt hear it before with the stock airbox, but now with the cai, i can hear it good. I was just wondering if it was normal, or if someone may know what is causing it. The car runs fine, except for the little exhaust leak at the header collector which it causing the knock sensor to pull some timing and power at 4000rpm and up..other than that it is a blast to drive. I just didnt thinkit should be making that popping sound when the rpms are going back down to idle. It does it only one time each time the engine is revved up.. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide..

There's a butterfly valve in the stock airbox. Maybe it's sticking??

I have heard people talking about a backfire or something that occurs in their intake...but idk much about it. Trying searching "backfire in intake" on google...
I don't think it's bad for the car.

Backfiring through the intake. A few instances where I had that problem:

1. TPS on my H23 went bad
2. MAP sensor went bad a few months after my H22 swap, although that backfiring sounded more like a small explosion
3. Bad TPS after H22 swap, but it wasn't as bad as the other TPS

So... check the TPS first! Maybe ignition timing if you have fiddled with the distributor

I've mentioned that godforsaken TPS so many times in so many threads.... it caused too many damn problems

THanks for the suggestions. I appreciate them all. I am going to try and get a new tps. I did forget to mention that be4 i bought my lude the engine was overhauled by a honda service tech, so i may check the timing. I also have a little lifter/rocker arm tapping . I gotta make time to adjust the valves. Hopefully i can get rid of that noise as well..
