Intake manifold question

The im comes in three pieces. Would it make a difference if i took out the middle part of it where the 4 butterflys are? I took off the tb to look inside the IM and the ports match perfectly, the only problem Id see with it is that I need to use shorter bolts to bolt it back up. Would this make a power difference for better or worse?

There may be someone else to answer the question, but....who knows. I would be hesitant to do it. I have seen kits where it allows the removal of that piece. You may loose low end power. Or you can get a Euro R manifold

Well I already decided this morning that i was going to do it. I bought some shorter bolts at the hardware store this morning and they are allen head. the top half of the Im sits about the same amazingly... Ill try and post a pic later.
So minilogo, I take it that you skate board?

Every day I'm not workin, since I was like 14, 23 now, so ya.

I really think the Euro R manifold from rosko would be your best bet, it costs $$ but it out performs aftermarket H22 manifolds with OEM quality.

that is a pretty good deal IMO about the IM. how much power does it add?

Removing the butterflies from the stocker only causes a small loss of hp & torque down low. There isn't much benefit except 1lb of weight reduction.

you should get blacktrax spacers to increase the velocity of the air going through the runners, i dont think shortening the manifold is ideal for performance

well by my butt-dyno there is no difference in bottem end or top since i took it off. So I wouldnt really know if it hurt or improved performance... Im not sure about gas mileage either right now. I dont think the mod was worth buying the allen bolts or the gas i spent to find them. but its different I guess...

If you do a search on h-t there's dyno results and a comparison to the skunk2 IM.

and as far as research, is that the infamous hidden search button?
