Is it hard to install springs on a car? I have a set and am just not getting around to installing them. I have a chilton' manual and am going to follow the instructions exactly, it doesn't seem too hard. But, is is easy or hard? please explain and give suggestions as they are necessary!
springs:
jack up car. remove wheels. remove three nuts that connect shock tower to body of car (under hood and in trunk). remove bolts holding shock tower to wheel assymbly. remove shock tower. compress spring. remove spring. install in reverse order.
camber kit:
while car is jacked up with removed wheels, remove two nuts securing anchor bolts to body of car (under hood and in trunk). tap anchor bold out. swivel control arm around so you can work on it. remove anchor bolt from control arm. install camber kit. reattach to body of car. put suspension under load and torque all of your nuts and bolts. put wheels back on and lower to ground. get an alignment at a reputable shop that will align lowered vehicles.

yes it is pretty simple. i mean after you take off the tire you can see the few bolts you need to get the shock/spring out. there are some things that can help make the install go faster. for example for the rear getting the control arm bolts back throught is a pita in my experience. this is because suspension is extened too much so i took a jack and put it under the disk brake and jacked it up about 4-6 inches then the control arm bolts glide right in with ease.
What about coilovers? How much harder are those? I've watched people install them before, but don't remember it all. I remember going with them to rent the spring compressor and watching him do it and all. Didn't look too difficult.

if you're talking about coilovers like the Teins then it's easier than replacing just the springs cause you won't need to disassemble the shock/spring assembly, you'll just replace it completely, if you're talking about the coilover sleeves like the Ground Controls then it'll be pretty much the same as changing springs.
