Did you notice any difference after installing the rail? I've been contemplating buying one but think it won't provide much more fuel delivery compared to stock.

I know in order to get the most out of a fuel rail you need to upgrade the injectors and FPR, but did you notice anything after just replacing the rail?

Thanks.........Mark

K fellas I'm gonna make this quick so you guys don't have to keep checking this thread.

Mark.. I installed the FPR at the same time..no injectors ..I would not say I felt a power diff but it did help me correct the richness in my air fuel mix which inturn gave me better oomph down low..no more bogging.

Guys I'm taking 4 classes right now and working full time so my day is shot thats why I havn't really been posting as of late. I start at 5am and don't get home till 11:30pm.

By Saturday I promise I'll have pics and a detailed write up.. I just need to get some sleep

Ok fellas I hope you appreciate this...

How to install a fuel rail..and or FPR.

1. Relieve your fuel pressure..ie: remove your gas cap
2. Remove the connectors from the fuel injectors and the IAC valve(grey colored plug harness I believe there are 5)
3. Disconnect the vacume hose from the fuel pressure regulator and EGR valve, and the fuel return hose from the Fuel Pressure regulator. (expect to spill some fuel here..not much but clean it up before restarting..and some hoses are a ***** to take off)

4. Disconect the fuel hose from the fuel rail
5. Loosen the retainer nuts on the fuel rail and harness holder (should be 3, if your installing an FPR and gauge like I did, you might have a hell of a time getting the right tool in there at the right angle to tighten these mofo's up)
6. Disconect the PCV valve and fuel rail
7. Remove the fuel injectors from the intake manifold
8. Slide new cushion rings onto the injectors.
9.Coat new O-rings with oil and place them on injectors
10. Insert injectors into the rail first
11. Coat new seal rings with clean engine oil and press them into the intake manifold
12. Install the fuel rail with injectors installed..into the manifold
13. Install and tighten retainer nuts
14. Connect the F hose to the rail and use new washers
15. Refer to step 3 and reinstall all those hoses
16. Plug in the grey plugs..5 I think
17 replace the 6mm service bolt washer and tighten the bolt.

Done..now turn the key as to prime the fuel pump..but dont turn it over...check for leaks if it's all good your done

follow the links to my webshots album for pics of my setup and drawn instructions from my manual. The book told me to replace all washers and o-rings so I took no chances and did..no leaks yet

I chose to install my FPR and gauge on the rail as for one quick intstall. But my Srut brace made installing them in one piece very difficult. hard to manuever when you trying to reinstall and you gotta line the plugs and the rail up..like hitting 4 bulleyes simultaniously

I have already done mine since you posted that. It wasn't hard, I did the same procedure as what you posted. The pics didn't work when i looked.

Hey, how do I remove the connectors from the fuel injectors? There's a metal clip and there's a tab, but I can't seem to press it, and yanking on the connectors doesn't seem to work.

Please help! Thanks!

Never mind, duh, you just loosen the clips. Anyway, I found that on my install, I had to get shorter bolts to bolt down the stock fuel pressure regulator onto the AEM rail. You can find shorter bolts on the stock fuel rail that holds the plastic thing (which house the wires to connect the Fuel Injectors). Although AEM says not to use teflon tape, I did so on the recommendation of a friend and it seems to be working ok so far. I was also able to mount a B&M guage on the rail and am reading 30 PSI at idle which I think is high, I probably should install my B&M FPR. So there it is, thanks for the install write up, it helps to have more than one source of directions since the AEM ones kinda suck. (there's no picture of the AEM rail installed on the manual!!)
