DON't do it.... i repeat don't do it ... omg another look a like ricer... no more please.. well at least not on preludes... BTW what kind of question is this.. omg you don't know how to take off your tails.. if not damn man you are in serious problem and should just drive your mother's corolla
that was harsh, its his first post give him a break, just like what was said before use an 8mm socket but make sure its the long neck sockets or it wont work.
That's true huh sorry i apologize... for being an ass. but i think that you should not put it on... why don't you just put on the stock with the signals clear... welcome on board man...
ilario: altezza lights get no respect on this board man...hehe....u'll have to excuse all the flaming
however...
-open up the trunk,
-open up the plastic part door that leads to the back of the tail lights (take out the center plastic on the trunk door edge if u need more space to work with)
-then take either an 8mm wrench or even a set of pliers to take out the nuts that screw the lights in
-u might have some problems with the plastic piece over one of the nuts that tie the wires in a bundle...just pry it off the nut
-then carefully remove the tail light and install the new altezzas...enjoy!
SiR-P12eLude: yea ur an ass...haha but I agree with u...so I'm gonna be an ass too!...Altezzas are nasty! Don't do it unless ur putting it on someone's car u u don't like to being with! haha
you guys are pathetic, who cares who has altezzas, they are just tailights, i think everyone who had something bad to say should drive their mom's gas-sippin econo car. It's all a matter of taste, those who dicriminate have bad taste. We are all in it for the same purpose, performance, so leave that man alone

I'm so sick of hearing people flame others for tail lights or whatever. He is here asking for advice on how to install them not if he should get them or not. It would be a boring world if we all had the same mods on our cars. If he likes them, then keep your comments to yourselves if you have nothing constructive to say.
I swear, this board is going to crap and is the reason why I don't visit it very often anymore. I miss the old community we had when this board was first created by Dan. You would never find comments like these because we all had respect for eachother.
To answer your question, you have to remove the liner panel that is on the back of the trunk which hides the back of the tail lights. To do this, remove two phillips screws near the trunk latch and pull out the body clip located a few inches below the latch on the liner panel. Once those three things are removed you can pull out the liner. Don't be afraid to use force because the panel will be held in by metal body clips.
Once that is out of the way, there are three 8mm bolts and one 10mm bolt on each tail light. You will need the deep sockets to get these off like someone already mentioned. Once those are out of the way you can unhook the wiring harness. Don't worry about the two white clips that you will see when removing the tails. Don't try to remove those because they are permanently fixed to the frame and hold the tail lights firmly. Once those four bolts are off then you just push outwards from the inside of the car to detach the lights from those white clips. Once you have the lights out you remove the two phillips screws that hold the black backing onto the stock tails and then screw that piece onto the Altezza lights. Last just put the rubber gasket from the stock tails onto the Altezza lights and install in the reverse order.
Good luck and don't listen to what anyone else says. If you like your car that's all that matters. I mod for myself and myself alone.
God damn guys chill the f*ck out.. i did apologize.. and i'm pretty sure that jackal and i were just joking.... man these people... the discussion is ready over on the flaming until you guys came back... backing him up when there's nothing to be backed...

It didn't sound like you were kidding to me with the "ricer" comment. It's the fact that you even had to appologize in the first place that bother's me. He was just asking for help like any of us and didn't deserve all the negative comments.

Amen on Mark94's post. I just hope this board doesn't go to crap. Anyway, let's just respect each other's taste. I personally think altezzas look nice on certain colored ludes with certain types of altezzas.
Thanks guys. It's not my car, its a friend of mines, i drive an eclipse. He bought the lights, i told them they were ***, but he likes them, thats all that matters. He said he was gonna pay somebody to do it, so i told him that wold be *****, so i'm gonna put them in for him.
haha lol...yes guys I was j/k...daamnn...y else would I give the instructions if I wasn't?? comon guys...lighten up? plz?
ilario: heh...funny you should agree...
SiR-P12eLude: heh...i got yo back man...haha
personally i think its good to hear other's ppl's opinions...I mean if you liked the lights, then no matter what ppl said it wouldn't matter, b/c you mod ur car for urself...u do it the way u like it...
jackal.. that's decent what you said.. true true.. why care if other people dislike your mods.. it's YOUR car. and can do what evers to it... But it doesn't hurt to read a feel opinions rather not nice ones but still it's an opinions..
