installing alternator ?'s

okay, so the alternator comes in tomorrow. i ahve the ps pump, and old alternator with belts removed from the car. i just install everything back how i took them out. i know that much, but how do i make sure that the tension is right on the belt without using a gauge thing? is there a simple way to do it?

Umm... pull tight. That's all I did when I did it. Worked like a charm until I messed up once and had to fish the belt back around the crank pulley.
