I'm new and have a few ?'s

Whatsup, well I have been the co-owner of a 95 VTEC for quite sometime now and today, the inevitable happened. I got into a little fender bender and I need a few parts:

Hood
Pass. Headlight
Corner lights
Front turn signals
Bumper Cover
Reinforcement

My question is, where did everyone get their JDM Headlights from and how much where they?

WHat about the quality of Fiber Images CF hoods? I have only seen them on my civic si.

Also, has anyone done this through their insurance company where they looked at the car and you did the work? Its not in that bad of shape, the radiator support is still fine, its just cosmetically bad.

Thanks for all your help.

Welcome to the board! You can get JDM headlights for Ludes on e-bay, anywhere from 300 - 450 bucks.

Good luck,
J

Re: I'm new and have a few ?'s

welcome you can get JDM 1 piece headlights from sites such as www.optauto.com or www.modacar.com they usually range in price from $350-500 you should also check the sponsors of this site. they sell JDM stuff. as far as carbon fiber hoods, I have a VIS carbon fiber hood, i am very happy with the craftmanship and i think its a great buy. The best i hear is Fiber Images, they make the best carbon fiber hoods for Preludes in terms of fitment and quality but they are pricey, and i would and i did rather go with VIS.

Were you hit, or you hit someone?

if you were hit, you call their insurance claim #, they take some info, send a guy out 24-48 hours later, and he looks it over and writes you an estimate, a few days later you receive the check. for YOU, you can do anything you want w/the money.

With as much damage is sounds like you have you might want to check and make sure the "frame" didn't get tweaked at all.

the frame is fine, I was side swiped pulling out of a gas station, he literally took the whole bumper cover off.

The police report stated it was my fault though, saying i didnt grant right of way or some ****, he was in the ONCOMING lane, doing about 70 to beat a yellow light.

So will my girlfriends insurance company write her a check, or will the body shop that gets it. Im contemplating doing the work myself as i used to work at Manchester Honda in Ct. but I dont really know how the insurance matter will work. Id rather do it because most shops around here dont like doing aftermarket stuff.

Thanks for the replies btw.

I'd go with VIS over Fiberimages. I honestly haven't been too impressed with the Fiberimages hoods I've seen. The VIS seem to be of much better quality. The VIS hoods have CF that wrap around the edges of the hood, the Fiberimages they just cut or something at the end and I think it looks pretty crappy. My .02

FI is a heavy show hood...crappy. VIS is better cause the wrap-around like can'tdrive55 said. And cheaper.
