ignition more topend or lowend?

what i have mainly heard is that advancing the timing gives you more lowend but then on this forum ive heard both ways. so lets settle this once and for all, which is it then? is it differnt on a h23 to a h22?

I've always thought that adding a performance ignition system would give you better throttle response and thus giving you good low-end power.

Agreed! I just installed MSD on my 96 VTEC and it is more responsive low-end. I've seen better mods for the buck! like underdrive pulley or cam gears!
