What would you do to a bone stock RED Si 5spd. with 1200 bucks. I'm thinking wheels, springs, exhaust, intake, and possibly header. Any other suggestions? What wheels do you guys like?

good luck getting all that stuff for 1200.. nice wheels will run you at least 1200 w/ tires, if you're going for looks get wheels and get it lowered w/ springs and shocks if you're going for performance get i/h/e first
I/H/E and then you will want more speed. i have an si and i blew my money on I/H/E and now im swapping in jdm h22. i say swap and get that out of the way.

Well, I do have friends that can get me deals ya know.
I love those Velox VX-8's, but my car's red, and I don't know how they'd look.
And sure, if I'd save up a little extra to get a h22 swap, the motor itself would be around 2200, but then it'd be quite expensive to get it installed, and quite frankly, I don't have the patience (money) for that right now. I know I want my car to sound good, and I/H/E would do that, although I know they'd give me a quite noticeable diff. in performance as well. A swap is down the road, but for now I'm gonna keep it short and sweet. I haven't even gotten to know the h23 yet. I wanna have some fun with it first.

if you want H22 down the road then just get intake and exhaust. don't get headers or any other parts that wont fit on your H22 when u get it. u can save money that way.
I say just drive the car for a while. Get to know it. Save up your money. Then you can decide what YOU want to do first, make it look better or perform better.

WELL, I have I/H/E, I paid a grand total of $875 for the 3, and I beat stock 4th Gen VTECs. I beat MODDED 5th Gens.
With 1200, I'd get some springs, some adjustable shocks, camber kits, and strut bars.
Nothing for performance?
I think I'm gonna get an Intake and a muffler (the car already has 2 in. piping back to the cat.), possibly a hi-flow cat, and that'd be around 500, give or take. Then, I'll spend the rest on suspension. I can deal with the stock alloys for a while.

You'll notice a much bigger difference with suspension stuff. Plus, it'll make the car look better. Trust me, I've got I/H/E, rims, springs, shocks, strut bars etc. If I could do it again, I'd do suspension first.

Same here... More than anything I love taking a good canyon run, and I wish I had built the suspension on my car before I did the engine stuff. Because now I have the engine fairly nice and the only things I have done to the suspension are my wheels, GC's, and Neuspeed front bar.
If I had $1200 to spend on a stock 4th gen Si, I'd go with suspension first and have fun on canyon runs/twisties. Trust me you'll love your Lude even more after you upgrade the suspension. I know I did
actually after i modded my suspension thats about when all hell broke loose. Noises are incredibly annoying. so bad that i kinda wish that i never touched the suspension. if there was one thing that ever made me sell my car it would be the constant annoying suspension noises. ohh yeah and a swap does not cost 2200, i got my h22 and ecu shipped here for 1664. ad another 60 bucks for a helms and you can do the swap yourself. just my opinion.
Save your money so you can buy your next car with cash or just for a rainy day. You never know what is in your future. You don't want to be one of those other guys on this site (you know who you are...) whining that they spun a bearing and they have no money to fix the car and the car just sits for the next 6 months until they can afford to fix it.
