if the JDM H23 was an AWD Accord...

would it be possible to make an AWD Prelude with a 2.3 VTEC? I imagine you would have to do a ton of undercarrage work but is it possible? and did the JDM H23 come on Manual Transmission or is it possible to swap a 5 (or 6) speed tranny in?

No, the JDM SIR-T Accord with the H23A VTEC was only available with an automatic tranny. Not to mention by the time you got the AWD to work in the Prelude you may as well build a new chassis.

Since the tranny is responsible for the AWD swapping a 5-speed on would eliminate it. It is possible to swap on a 5-speed H22 tranny and have a 5-speed H23 VTEC though.

so if i could afford to do it and had my mind set on an AWD prelude it would have to be automatic. why cant Honda make a 5 speed awd tranny. that would make this much easer. if i was going to say put this JDM H23A into, say, an 89 CRX, could it still be worth it with the automatic transmission?

the auto tranny is very very long, from wat i heard, i would search it up, it someone listed the spec of the tranny, the slush box isn't the fastest thing, but i am sure you can get it rebuilt, to be a fast lil auto box, but tha tis it

Yes I think you could do it with enough money. I think they hard part would be making room for an axle to go across the back with think like the gas tank in the way.

Well yeah, I am not going into great detail but if you take a look at the underside of the car in the back, a lot would have to be done to make room for the drivetrain.

what if i put the gastank in the trunk? that would free up alot of space down there. i would think you would have to reroute the exaust. doesnt it go straight down the middle?

Fvck 4ws. i would be happy with just AWD. and yeah turbo would be nice. im starting to wonder if this might be a good idea. does anyone know the availability of parts for building a Honda AT up? would i have to "overnight parts from Japan" (forgive my TF&TF reference)?
